NYOA Focuses on Safety!

Guess what? At NYOA we are focusing more on SAFETY then ever! Please read below to learn how you can help prevent issues from happening at a NYOA event!

NYOA Safety Guidelines:

• All vehicles in the pit area must be operated in a safe and reasonable manner at all times.

• Pit Vehicles, if allowed by the event promoter, must have a valid pass displayed and must travel at a maximum speed of 10 mph. Furthermore, all occupants must be seated in their own manufacturer approved seat.

• Motorized vehicles are NOT permitted in the vendor area.

• Helmets are required for ALL motorcycles/ATV riders when the event gates are open (Not UTV’s).

• There is NO riding “double” allowed.

• Pit riding/racing will NOT be tolerated. Race machines will only permitted to be ridden to and from the race course.

• Smoking will not be permitted within 50 feet of the registration area, tech lines, start lines and the scoring area.

• Access lanes, including all areas around or near the event entrances, the pit area, event registration, or other specified areas, must remain clear of vehicles at all times to allow for free flow of official vehicles, safety crews, ambulances, etc.

• If outdoors, dogs must be kept on leash or in an appropriate corral, kennel or cage. Dogs are NOT permitted in the Start area.

NYOA members are asked to assist with event safety issues wherever they may be, including race courses, pit area, entry gates, start areas, etc. When appropriate, NYOA members should inform event staff, such as course workers, NYOA Safety personnel, or any other Promoter event worker or NYOA staff member. NYOA members are also asked to assist in identifying, and if necessary, the removal of spectators located in unnecessarily high-risk areas, such as the first and/or second turns after the Start. When appropriate, NYOA members should assist with course safety and the compliance of NYOA course guidelines.

Thank you for your cooperation!

WHO IS READY FOR ROUND 1?!

A little series preview of the Kenda New York X-Country State Championship, an AMA Featured Series brought to you by Bobcat of the Twin Tiers......

For 2019, Kenda is our new Title Sponsor- featuring the great Kenda Tire Giveaway, brought to you by Budget Racing (same as last year- 6 sets of tires per event!)

They offer such a great variety of tires---bikes, quads, minis and peewees, and even utv models! Check them out online or at the Budget Racing rig this season!

Round 1 gates open Saturday at 10am and the Dream Riders crew has some great events lined up to please everyone in the family.

Registration sign up will be open from 12-6pm on Saturday and again on Sunday at 6:30am

On Saturday afternoon/evening consider being a part of the Chinese Auction that benefits the NYOA Scholarship Fund (given to riders furthering their education after high school) or grabbing some food from 4-7pm to benefit the Trevor Cobb fundraiser---Trevor has been a huge part of the NYOA family for years racing the AA Bike line and was paralyzed in a riding accident in Ocotillo Wells, California in late February. The Chinese Auction will also be going on Sunday.

Also happening on Saturday & Sunday morning at Dream Riders---A bounce obstacle course and slide for kids AND ADULTS!

Ever wanted to watch Supercross at a race? Head to the white tent across from vendor row on Saturday night!

In other news, the former "Finale" race has a new name, date & location! Round 2--Finger Lakes X-Country--May 19th---Mills Rd, Montour Falls!

And, even more, Valley View (Round 5) has a new date and location too!

There has been quite some buzz and excitement around these rounds and their new locations!

Also back on the schedule for the 2019 season---GNCC's!! We are SO pumped to be co-sanctioning the Tomahawk (Round 4) and Black Sky (Round 13) events with the GNCC crew and trust our riders are too. Last year many NYOA members were seen as spectators or riders at the Tomahawk and were sadly disappointed when Black Sky had to cancel due to weather. As many of our riders support and race the national series, it will be an added benefit for them to get State Championship points as well, in its inaugural season.

As a reminder, there are NO 2-day events scheduled

*The gate fee for ages over 10 is $15 (under 10 free!).

*Senior Citizens 65 & over is $10 (Sunday only)----new for 2019!

Race entry fees:
PeeWee----$15
Mini----------$20
Adult---------$30
AA Adult----$40
Day Rider--$10

Looking SO forward to seeing all of you this weekend! Good luck to all this season!

PARENTS OF YOUTH RIDERS!

ATTENTION parents of ALL youth riders:

It is an official NYOA rule that all youth riders (under 18 years old) need to have a birth certificate on file. Please look at the attached list of riders. If your son/daughter IS ON THIS LIST, please bring a photocopy of their birth certificate for our files so your child can remain eligible to compete in all NYOA events.

Thank you!
