Our mission is to provide a fun, safe, rider-conscious, family-oriented series where sportsmanship, respect and other life lessons are instilled in our membership. We are committed to the betterment of off-road racing and to providing each rider, young or old, with a safe, challenging, and fulfilling competitive race experience.
Event locations held throughout Central NY for youth and adults, BIKE and ATV, currently no UTV.
History of WNYOA to NYOA
WNYOA was “born” on July 11. With races held in places like Wayne County, Batavia, and Kings Ferry. Those first few years we ran about 150-200 racers at an even.t We were growing and added youth classes. in the beginning the youth classes all raced together. mini and Pee wee quads and bikes together all on the same course.
We continue to grow and make changes each year. We separated youth bikes and quads and then made mini and pee wee classes
Our race locations started to move from Western New York to more Central New York as the years passed. With the Ithaca to Cortland to Newark Valley becoming the unofficial center of the series
Through the years we have had races from. Fulton NY to Avoca NY to Unadilla even once across the border in PA.
In 2017 it was voted as we had consistently been the largest Offroad series in the entire state to change or name to just New York Offroad Association NYOA.
In 2018 we became an AMA featured series which provided Official AMA #1 plates to our class champions.
In 2022 we broke all our record for racer numbers we averaged 976 racers per event so far with an all-time single event record of 1004 racers.
It has and always will be a team effort to make the races happen. Thank you to all those who have brought us here and those who currently make racing possible for NYOA.
