Competition Bulletin on E-Bikes 1/22/2024
To adress the increased options of Electric powered Off Road Vehicle now in use and available. Pedal assist E-bike and pedal only bike may be on the course but shall not impede the flow of the race. No throttle assisted E-bikes of any sort permitted on any part of racecourse Throttle only E-Bike is considered a PIT VEHICLE and will require a PIT PASS and a helmet to operate within the pit area. Operator must follow the rules under the pit pass guidelines. Pit speeds on ANY type of pit vehicle or bicycle is 10 miles per hour. Anyone found to be in violation with a pit vehicle or speed in pits will be subject to revocation of pit pass or possible disqualification of their rider’s ability to race or be scored for their race. Stacyc bikes and riders age 10 and under are exempt to the pit pass rule, can also preview course the day before event the Stacyc rider must have a helmet in use and be accompanied by an adult while on course.
Pedal Assist Bikes – Pedal Assist bikes are defined as bicycles that multiply the energy input of a rider that is applied to the pedals of the bicycle.
Throttle Assist -Throttle Assist is defined as the ability to propel a bicycle forward without input to the pedals. Be that with a thumb, button, twist throttle, or any other power engagement device.
